Beauty Reviews
I don’t usually branch out when it comes to makeup. I find something I like and I stick with it. It’s going on my face, after all. I have no brand loyalty with clothing, shoes, accessories, but with makeup products I RARELY turncoat. Clinique powder, Dior mascara, MAC blush, or bust. But this weekend, I was intrigued by Almay’s new Wake up Makeup. I’m at work every morning by 6:30 am, so anything to help me look less like I just rolled out of bed is appreciated. So, while at Wal-Mart I purchased the Almay Wake Up eyeliner plus highlighter.
Here’s before and after shots of me testing out the eyeliner.

I’ll go ahead and address what you’re thinking. It doesn’t look THAT different. That’s exactly what I thought looking at it. The eyeliner applied easily but provided the same effect as any eye liner. The “brightener” amounted to a cream colored roll-on, infused with glitter. With all due respect Almay, I don’t do glitter on my face. I’m not 13 anymore. And even if I could identify a venue in which that would be appropriate, it would not be my work place. I removed it before I left the house. The worst part was, I had the eyeliner-highlighter combo on for all of 15 minutes before the eyeliner had left a faint line on my eyelid. Classic. This combination is available for $7.48 at Wal-Mart but I definitely don’t recommend it. Wal-Mart customer service and I are about to have a debate on returning used cosmetics.
Now on to a more positive beauty review, I spent my one day off this week trying out another Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail art. This one was called ‘Twinkle Bell’.
It’s like champagne on my fingertips! Four days later I’m still loving the color and the appliques have stood up against dishwashing and several showers. This was my second time to try out the Sally Hansen nail art and I’m still impressed. If you want a super fast, super easy salon manicure look, this is a great and really inexpensive option. Only $7.50 a box!
One last item, yesterday I was lucky enough to participate in a LIVE Hangout with Megan Elliot of Lush to Blush and several other lovely ladies. The topic of conversation? Little Black Bag, of course! If you missed the live hangout, don’t fret. Lush to BLush will be posting the video on their youtube channel. Check it out and learn all about the most exciting new shopping site, Little Black Bag.
